Lu was preceded by four years in death by her husband Joseph of 42 years of marriage. And also by four brothers, Leroy, Patrick, Donald and Bernard. She is survived by two brothers, Cletus and Gilbert, both live in Somerset, California. Lu was born in Dimock South Dakota to Harold J. Hohn and Julia K. Hohn both are now deceased. Both of Lu's parents were born in South Dakota and of German decent.

Lu worked most of her adult life as a waitress, she was the best at whatever she did. She loved her family and enjoyed traveling. She has tons of relatives in California, Wisconsin, South Dakota and Iowa. Lu was loved by all and will be truly missed.

A Memorial Mass is scheduled for October 1, 2010 at 12:00pm at St. Clement Catholic Church, 738 Calhoun Street, Hayward, CA
